What is Manual QA?
In the world of IT or any high-end product development industry for that matter, there exists a need to “verify and validate” whatever product or service has been made. This proves to the final check which generates a health report so to speak that gives a better picture of what to expect (and what not to). Looking at this report and believing in the words of the person who generated this report, the team feels more confident and assured to release the application. Without this final check, there is no way of knowing what’s going to happen. We could be just one click away from a disaster for all we could tell.
This eminence responsibility falls on the shoulders of the QA. Though there are 2 main types of QA; Automation and Manual. Though quite different, they both have 1 thing in common which is in essence the core aspect of what it is to be a QA; in-depth product understanding.
As a manual QA, it is your job to understand the requirements of the product from the broader aspects right down to the most minute of details. It would not be wrong to say that, a QA should aspire to be a living documentation of the project he or she is on.
Though all of this may sound daunting in reality this isn’t a feat all that hard to attain. The sooner you stop looking at yourself as just another “bug-finder”, but an administrator per sae the sooner you’ll move into the magical realm of what a QA essentially is in Emumba. Having said that, this is exactly what the content moving forward will aim to do just. The goal is to bring you up to speed with the different tools, techniques, approaches and methodologies you need to learn and actively use in your life as QA here. All the different topics will have (hopefully) in-depth explanations attached to them using various ways of communicating. This platform is practical, “alive” and always upgrading, so in case you have any feedback or after some time looking back feel like something is outdated, you're more than welcome to share.
Till then, Let’s start walking!
